59 year old Walking 1 hour with no pain

A 59-year-old man who underwent knee stem cells with Dennis M. Lox, M.D., is pleased with his results. Besides knee pain, his reduced walking ability had significantly affected his quality of life. This led him to seek treatment with Dr. Dennis an expert in knee stem cell therapy. Dr. Lox determined with his knee arthritis he would be a suitable candidate for knee stem cells.

The treatment was deemed successful by the gentleman as his walking tolerance had increased far beyond what he initially thought would occur. He was walking over an hour in a couple of months without pain. His goals and condition are being monitored on Followup.

Knee stem therapy may be a viable option for patients who have underlying knee osteoarthritis or general arthritis. Knee stem cells may be used in such cases if it is determined that this is an acceptable course of action. Often patients are looking for alternatives to knee joint replacement surgery. Stem cell treatments may be of benefit in these cases. Knee osteoarthritis is essentially a breakdown of the knee joint. This begins in the soft tissues and cartilage with eventual changes in bone. As osteoarthritis progresses, the pain and accompanied debility may progress. Many such patients are now investigating alternative treatment strategies such as stem cell therapy.

Trauma may result from many possible sources, especially sports injuries. Trauma may induce AVN in a distribution correlating with the trauma. The most frequent site is the inner upper aspect of the knee joint, known as the medial femoral condyle. It may also be seen on the outer aspect (lateral femoral condyle), or lower inside (tibial plateau). Overt significant trauma such as a fracture can sever blood supply. This may also occur as a risk of treating a fracture with internal fixation.

Other types of trauma may induce a bone bruise or contusion. These boney contusions may exert pressure onto the small blood vessels and compress the vasculature to the point of disrupting blood flow, similar to a stroke.
